Canada’s exploration and mining industry is at a crossroads and it’s time for a new plan based on a clear vision. We are currently developing the CMMP together with provincial and territorial governments, Indigenous communities, and industry. The Plan will help establish Canada as the leading mining nation—laying the foundation for lasting success at home and abroad.

Canada has set an ambitious goal: to become a leader in the clean growth economy. Our mining industry is a major part of that.
It produces the resources new technology depends on. Copper. Nickel. Cobalt. Lithium. Rare earth elements. The raw materials for making everything from smart phones, solar cells and wind turbines to the batteries for electric vehicles.
Every day, hundreds of thousands of Canadians go to work in the mining industry, building our future and bolstering our economy.
